Closed Beta Tester Agreement — Nimis: Legacies Beyond

By downloading or playing the closed beta you agree to the following. It is short on purpose. Please read it.

1. Who can take part. You must be 16 or older and have been admitted to a beta wave. Access is personal: do not share your build, your link or your account.

2. It is unfinished. The beta has bugs, missing features and balance problems. Servers will go down, sometimes without warning. Outside the scheduled sessions there may be nobody online. The game is provided as it is, with no guarantee that it works on your device.

3. Everything will be wiped. All characters, items and progress made during the beta are deleted before launch, and may be deleted earlier if a test needs it. Nothing carries over except the tester reward in section 8.

4. No account recovery. During the beta your account is tied to the device you play on. If you reinstall, change device or clear the game’s data, the account is gone and we cannot restore it.

5. Security during the beta. Sign-in is protected, but the gameplay connection is not encrypted during the beta. Do not play on a network you do not trust, and do not reuse a character name or chat text that you would mind someone on your network seeing. Connections will be encrypted at launch.

6. Play fair and report what you find. The rules of conduct in our Terms of Service apply. If you find an exploit, a duplication bug or a way to cheat, report it privately to security@playnimis.com or to a moderator. Finding it earns thanks. Using it, or sharing it publicly before it is fixed, ends your access.

7. Sharing footage. [Wave B1: please do not post videos or streams yet; screenshots in our Discord are fine.] [From wave B2: you may stream and post videos and screenshots, as long as the “Closed Beta” watermark stays visible.] You may always talk about the game. You keep ownership of what you make; by posting it you allow us to share it and use clips from it in our own videos, with credit to you.

8. Feedback and the tester reward. Feedback, bug reports and suggestions you give us can be used in the game without payment or obligation. As thanks, testers who take part in at least [two] sessions receive a tester title and chat frame on their account at launch. It is cosmetic and has no gameplay effect. To receive it we keep the email address you signed up with and match it to your launch account.

9. Your data. What we collect and why is in the Privacy Policy: /legal/privacy/. In short: an account identifier, your game data, connection logs, chat and reports for moderation, and crash reports. You can ask us to delete your data at any time at privacy@playnimis.com.

10. Ending access. You can stop at any time by uninstalling. We can end anyone’s access at any time, in particular for breaking section 6 or the rules of conduct.

11. No payment either way. The beta is free. Testing is voluntary and unpaid, and nothing is sold during it.
