Codex / Your character
Attributes
Three attributes shape a fighter. You set them once, at creation, and they stay for that life.
Setting them
- A first life has 100 points to distribute. A reborn character has 110.
- Each attribute takes at least 10 and at most 80.
- A Super Trait raises the ceiling to 90 for the one attribute it boosts, and only that one.
The three attributes
| Attribute | What it does | Who wants it |
|---|---|---|
| Physique | Raises your maximum Stamina. Sets the damage of physical techniques. Decides how much you can carry. | Bare Fist fighters and anyone who lives on Stamina. |
| Capacity | Raises your active Nimis. Sets the damage of most elemental Nimis Arts. | Elemental casters. |
| Control | Raises Stamina and Nimis a little each. Sets Mindweaving damage and the strength of healing. Lowers the Nimis cost of everything you cast. | Mindweavers, Medics and hybrids. |
What attributes do not do
- They do not change your Vitality. Every character has the same Vitality, whatever their build. See The four gauges.
- They do not reduce damage taken. No attribute makes you harder to hurt.
- They do not set your Nimis Reservoir directly. The Reservoir is always a fixed multiple of your active Nimis, so it grows with whatever raises that.
Age moves the numbers too
Stamina and Nimis keep changing through a life, on top of what your attributes give. See Aging and rebirth.
