Codex / The world
Economy and shops
Three currencies, each kept apart from the others on purpose, so that money can never be turned into power.
The currencies
| Currency | Where it comes from | What it buys | Tradeable |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gold | Creatures, treasure chests, missions, other players | Consumables, ordinary weapons and armour, repairs | Yes |
| Vanguard Tokens | Events, wars, world bosses, high missions | Legendary weapons, boss scrolls, extra points, rift travel | Never |
| Prisms | The shop, or other players | Convenience and looks | Yes |
The middle row is the wall. The things that make a character stronger are bought with Vanguard Tokens, and tokens can only be earned by playing. They cannot be bought, sold or given.
Gold and death
- A defeat in the wilds takes most of the gold you are carrying.
- Gold in the bank is never touched.
- So bank before you go out.
The Account Bank
- One bank for your whole account, reached through the Bank in any Citadel.
- It holds gold and tradeable items. Items bound to a character cannot go in.
- It survives defeat and it survives rebirth. It is how one life leaves something to the next.
Trading
Two players standing near each other can trade gold, Prisms and tradeable items. Both see the whole offer and both must confirm. If any part cannot be completed, nothing changes hands.
Durability
Armour wears with use and has to be repaired. Repairs are meant to be a real, recurring cost.
Vendors
Each Citadel has vendors for consumables, weapons and armour. Their stock will be listed here from the game's data.
The shop
The shop is not open yet. What it will and will not sell is on the Fair play page.
